Just Us Girls #823 - Word Week

The Word of the Week at Just Us Girls as chosen by our host Lisa is

Perfect word in my opinion considering all the flower stamps and dies I have.  I went with a die this time.

Honey Bee's Vintage Roses.  I started with colored cardstock - C9 Pistachio and PTI lemon tart - shading them with Bundled Sage DI and Altenew Citrus Burst and Butternut.  Bundled Sage was inked in the background.  The gold heat embossed sentiment is from Waffle Flower's Bouquet Builder.  

I expect to see a large gallery this week since I'm sure you all have flower dies and stamps to use.  The Design Team and our guest Kerry have wonderful cards to inspire you if you need it.

Inkspirational #362

They had me at plaid.  The challenge at Inkspirational is stencil - with the option of plaid and I went with the option.

I really thought I had more plaid stencils but I only found this Buffalo plaid by Echo Park in my stencil file.  I thought it would make a great Sweater Vest using the dies from Sunny Studio with the same name.  It was stenciled with Rusty Hinge Distress Ink on PTI Fine Linen cardstock.  For the sentiment I thought a small 'emblem' on the shoulder would be the best way to go.  It's from PTI, gold embossed on a scrap of rust.  The card base was cut with the same die so it's a shaped card.

The Flower Challenge #109 - Reminder

I have enjoyed my time as a member of The Flower Challenge and heaven knows I have a ton of flower stamps and dies.  Even though the challenge is closing down after the winner reveal on January 4th, I will still be having fun making floral cards. 

My card uses the Festive Blooms die from Concord and 9th.  I played with it when I first got it and can't remember what paper I used but I love how this technique works.  I also can't find where I filed the die to look at it and explain, other than to say there is a coverplate that lays out the Design and you add the die cuts to it.  I've gone through most of my dies already but it's nowhere to be found.  I hope it didn't get left behind at the lake this summer.  The sentiment is from Spellbinders.

Addicted to CAS #287

I've been trying to work on Christmas cards and Addicted to CAS inspired me to make a couple with their Christmas theme.

The gold heat embossed sentiment is from SSS.  To add a little color and a holiday feel I added the holly from Spellbinders Christmas Wonder.   To show you that 'white space' doesn't have to be white, I made another card.

The same sentiment is embossed in silver and the leaves were changed to a brighter green.   So happy to have two more cards for my stash.

Color Hues #113

My company is gone so I had time to create a card for Color Hues - red and white.  The colors said Christmas to me and since that is the majority of the sets I brought with me, I narrowed in on this one.

The dove is a Lovely Layer from Honey Bee.  I cut an extra body and snipped off the wing to use it to mask the bird and shade the wings with Lost Shadow DI.  The red panel was trimmed, embossed with the Organic Linen folder from Altenew and added to a white card base.  The gold embossed sentiment is from Pinkfresh Studio.  I have a feeling I will be making more of this design.
