Just Us Grils #820 - Stencil Week

It's Stencil Week at Just Us Girls and our host Vicki says it's Anything Goes.

I wanted to try something new this time and use my neglected Oxide inks.

Oxides are less transparent than regular inks and I knew I could use them on kraft cardstock.  I did have to order some finger daubers that I could designate just for those inks but that's fine by me.  The image is from Pinkfresh Studio called Painted Daisies and I wanted the flowers white so I started with Hero Arts Unicorn white.  Daisies are my favorite flower after all.  The sentiment is from PF's Cozy Blooms.

I know you have plenty of stencils so why not  try something new with them?  I can't wait to see what you do.  If you need inspiration, the Design Team has plenty of it for you.

Freshly Made Sketches #730

The minute I saw Judy's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches I knew I had the exact die from SSS as her center image.  Then it was a matter of what to do for the side panel.  Oh, I know!  That foiled Spellbinders floral border that's been sitting in my Bits box.

The flowers were colored with Distress Inks, the die cut with silver cardstock to match the foiling and I used the center to add the sentiment from PFS.  It's like they were made for each other and this challenge.

Thanks for dropping by and spending a bit of your day with me.

The Flower Challenge #107

There's still time for you to make a card for The Flower Challenge.

The Design Team is back with more inspiration too.  Here's mine.

Altenew's Cosmos are the star of the card, cut from a variety of purple scraps, with the leaves in Green Parakeet.  A panel was lightly colored with Distress Ink before adding the Concord and 9th plaid die cut.  The sentiment is from Pinkfresh Studio.

We hope to see your card in our gallery.

Freshly Made Sketches #681

A lot of different companies worked together nicely for today's card for Freshly Made Sketches

It started with Penny Black's Lovely Blooms and a flower I painted a while ago with Distress Inks.  Altenew's Ornate Nesting die was embossed with a SU folder called Timeworn Type and placed on a panel of Gina K Moonlit Fog cardstock that has been embossed with Altenew's Tiled Chevron folder.  The sentiment is from Pinkfresh Studio.

Thanks for dropping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #679 and NBUS #72

Today's card is for Karren's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

I was looking for a flower to put in the middle of my 'banner' when I saw this Sweet Violet from Altenew that I totally forgot about.  It must be one of their older Craft-a-Flower sets because it doesn't have the keyhole system.  Probably why it was on sale at a good price.  I picked four purples from my scraps, darkening one with Villainous Poison Distress Ink, and two greens.  The banner is from Spellbinders Modern Ovals, embossed with SU's Tasteful Textiles and the background is Altenew's Chain Link Fence.  I was amazed at the dimension I got with that folder.  I forgot to add the Pinkfresh sentiment before I embossed the banner but it worked to stamp it on afterwards.

Both the embossing folder and violet dies are never before used stuff so I'm also sending my card to Darnell's NBUS

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a great weekend.

AAA Cards #285 and Inkspirational #336

Even with all the other things I do and techniques I try on my cards, I still like the occasional clean and simple card.  AAA Cards is always CAS and this challenge has the twist of Spring Colors.  Inkspirational is also having a CAS challenge ( I omitted the twist) so off my card goes to both.

The flowers are Beautiful Blooms from Pinkfresh Studio.  There are six different images and accompanying stencils and dies in the set.  I did a number of them a while ago and just picked three to add to my card.  The sentiment is also from PFS.

Thanks so much for dropping by.

PFS Create and Connect Class 3

I wasn't able to do the Create and Connect by Pinkfresh Studio in August as scheduled so I've just been doing the classes a bit at a time.  TK posted two cards yesterday and encouraged me to post mine.

The class was taught by Heather Hoffman and included two cards using the Majestic Mountains stencils and Trees dies.

Also included in the kit was the Dotted Fancy Frames.   First you stencil the trees and hills on an A2 size panel that is then cut with the die.  The card base was lightly inked with blue and the sentiment from another set in the kit was added.   The hills and trees were arranged behind the die cut frame and then popped up on the base.

This card used the mountain stencils which includes the stream, clouds, birds and sun.  The panel was cut with the largest frame and popped up on the base.  The trees were white in the directions but I lightly inked them with green after die cutting.  I left off a sentiment.  I love TK's blue and purple mountains and want to try that next time.

There are so many more goodies in the kit that I need to get to.  But first I need to watch the videos.  The other instructors include Lea Lawson, Dawn Woleslagle, Kim Kesti, Kristina Werner and Jennifer McGuire.  Stay tuned for more cards from these products.
