Time Out #280 - Inspired By

It's the Inspired By challenge at Time Out and this is your inspiration:

Your favorite thing to do in January.  Now that's a hard one.  I mean I like to do a lot of things but do I have any stamps or dies that will tell that story?  I ended up going back to the good old younger days for my idea.

My husband and I used to go cross country skiing so I pulled out an old set from PTI, made some skis and planted them in a snow drift made with a fabric embossing folder and a SSS die.  The background is Softly Falling from SU and the sentiment is from the PTI set.

I hope you have a favorite thing to do that you can share with us on a card.  For inspiration, please check out the Design Team's cards.

Christmas Kickstart #49

I hope sleigh and sled are interchangeable because I used a sled for the challenge at Christmas Kickstart.

I love this PTI set and have made quite a few cards with it over the years.  I think this is the first time I've used the accompanying sentiment.  It's stamped in blue on a torn piece of cardstock popped up with foam. The panel is embossed with a SU folder and the sled is tucked into the 'hill'.

Fortunately the snow we had yesterday is gone and the temperatures will be on the rise. I love it in December but not in April.

Let's Squash It! #3 and Inkspirational #228

I forgot I bought this wonderful snowflake embossing folder last year.  It was time to break it out and make a card with it.  It's just what I needed for Let's Squash It! and Inkspirational.

You all know how hard it is to get a decent photo with silver embossing and glitter but take my word for it this card has them both.  After embossing the white cs I cut three snowflakes from glitter paper and glued them over the center of the biggest ones.  The perfect silver embossed sentiment is from Penny Black.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you'll check out my other post today where I play cards with Michele.

Inspired By #51

When I saw the photo at Inspired By I just had to get out PTI's Three Feet Deep and make a card.
This reminds me of the sleds I got for my Greats this year although those were just plastic - a little safer for young ones I think.

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and that the new year treats you well.

CAS Christmas - October

I see lots of cardinals in the gallery and from the Design Team at CAS Christmas and today I'm adding my own.
I first embossed the panel with a SU falling snow folder and added the sentiment.   The cardinal is a layered stamp from Altenew which also comes with the branch that I inked and added High White embossing to for a snowy effect.  Not an easy task as the crystals wanted to blow all over instead of melt.

I'm glad you dropped by to see what I've been up to.
