CAS(E) This Sketch #375

CAS(E) This Sketch has a sketch I often use so making a card was easy.  The hard part was picking an image.
I went with a flower from PB that I've had for a long time but had only used the outline image.  This time I used the solid image and the watercolor technique with Zigs.  The die cut panel is from HB, the sentiment from Altenew, and the embossing folder from SU.

I was asked about this technique by Karen from Word Art Wednesday - a new challenge to me - and I'm going to send my card to them too.  Thanks for the invite, Karen.

ETA: My friend Judy just reminded me of the challenge at Mod Squad which I totally planned to enter and then just as quickly forgot about.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope your week is off to a good start.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #508

It looks like I'm just squeaking in with my card for Kraft Chicks Challenge.  They're asking for a CAS card and I wanted to use a NBUS stamp that my friend Loll enabled me to buy. 😉

The set is from Stampendous and unfortunately mine is defective so this and one other image I stamped will be all I can do until I can find a new stamp.  This one is stamped on Bristol and colored with Zigs.  The sentiment is from STAMPlorations.

I'm also going to share this at NBUS.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you have crafty friends that inspire you.

Altenew Inspiration Challenge - May 2020

The colors for the May Altenew Inspiration Challenge were so bright and lovely that I had to make a card.  That and the fact that I have so many Altenew flowers that it would be a shame not to. ;)
It's difficult to get a white flower but I used the Gardenia and stamped only one layer in Limestone.  I could have watercolored it but opted not to.  I added buds from Remember This in yellow and orange and set it all off with a skinny blue frame.  The sentiment is from the Gardenia set.

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a great day!

Inspired By #123 and Double D Challenge

I'm trying to use older stamp sets and I got out another one for this week's challenge at Inspired By.
I stamped the wisteria from PTI and popped it over the platinum embossed bracket and sign.  The panel and lavender card base were cut with rounded corner dies from HA and the panel embossed with the Subtle folder. I'm also sending my card to Double D (my first time playing there I think) who are looking for lavender/purple cards.

I appreciate you dropping by for a visit.

CASology #364

The challenge at CASology sparked an idea right away so I had to make a card using their code word:  Tea
The tea cup and sentiment, both embossed in gold,  are from Altenew.  I paper pieced the cup from an old paper pack.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope your weekend is going well and you're keeping safe.

Twofer Challenge #17

I love the topic of the Twofer Challenge this time - Bees.  I only have one bee stamp from RC but I love it.  Here's what I did with it.
You know you have to do a card for two different occasions using the same image.  First up is my uplifting card.
I mixed Distress Ink with translucent texture paste and spread it on my card base.  While it dried I cut the panel with a TH die and stamped the sentiment.  I colored the bees with Inktense pencils and replaced the wings on this one with some stamped on iridescent vellum with silver and sparkle embossed.
The background was make with Scattered Straw and Wild Honey DI through a Funky Fossil stencil.  When it was done I didn't like the white showing through so I spread the Scattered Straw over the entire panel that was cut with an MFT die.  Then I didn't like the white border so out came the Scattered Straw again.  The sentiment is from the same set and one I get a kick out of.

Thanks for dropping by.  Now that the floors are done and almost everything is back in order I will have more time to make cards and comment on your blogs.

Less Is More #389

It's one layer time at Less Is More and they want the focus on the sentiment.  I played around with a card several days ago that hit the recycle bin.  This morning as I was waking from sleep a new idea came to me.
This is a 'thank you' stamp from EBE that I thought would make a great card for someone going through rough times.  I stamped it in the Rock Collection colors from Altenew.

Thanks for dropping by.  It's frigid out but I don't mind because the sun is shining, oh happy day.

Addicted to Stamps and More #314

It's Clean and Simple time at Addicted to Stamps and More.  Here's my card.

I wanted something to send to my granddaughter and I thought this little squirrel from Gerda Steiner would lift her up.  He's colored with PolyChromos and placed inside a panel cut with MFT's domed die.  The panel was raised over a stenciled background with foam tape and a heat embossed sentiment added.

What will you make for our CAS challenge?

CASology #289

When you don't have stamps that 'fit' the word (no pun intended) then you have to get creative.  This is CASology's word of the week.
This is what came to mind.
Oh yes you can!  Fit a square peg into a round hole that is.

Thanks for challenging my creativity, CASology.
