Just Us Girls Challenge #789 - Mood Board Week

Lisa has a Mood Board for the challenge at Just Us Girls this week.

There are so many ways to go with this and although it had me stumped at first I'm happy with my card.

I randomly stamped the books from Altenew's Tall Tales around the edge of my panel and colored them with artist markers. The sentiment is from the same set and both panels were cut with Hero Arts Postage die and added to a dark green base.

The light bulb and sentiment are from Concord and 9th, stamped, colored with Zigs and die cut.  It's layered up on a gel panel from my Bits Box cut with a Honey Bee postage die.

Time Out #245 t

 This week at Time Out we are challenging you to be colorful.

We should have a gallery full of fun and colorful cards.  Will yours be one of them?  Here's mine.

I think the paints and inks that we use in our craft studios are very colorful so I used them as the focus of my card. Images from a Hero Arts Monthly Kit were colored with Zigs and Altenew Artist Markers, die cut and Pico Embellisher added to the paint areas.  They are arranged on a Hero Arts Postage Die along with a sentiment from the same set.

Our sponsor is Lawn Fawn and they are offering a $25 store credit for the winner of the challenge.  I hope we see your card in the gallery.

CAS Christmas August 2022

The challenge at CAS Christmas is 'pine'.  I wasn't sure I had anything pine with me so went searching and found this one from Newton's Nook.  

I already had the image colored with artist markers so this was easy to put together.  I just cut a panel with a Hero Arts postage die, stamped a sentiment from the set and popped it up.   Since then I've found a few other things so look for another pine project tomorrow.

Just Us Girls #435

It's Word Week at Just Us Girls and our host Ina would like to see bold cards.

I happened to have a smooshed DOX background on my desk that looked pretty bold to me so I added a flower and called it good.

I've had the TH flowers for quite a while but I just got the dies which allowed me to put my daisy on the background.  It was stamped with DI and then I used a waterbrush to move the color around.  The sentiment is from PB.

How do you interpret the word 'Bold'?  For inspiration check out what the Design Team and our Guest Designer for the month of April, Karren Johnson, have made.  The winning card maker will be chosen Chic of the Week and have a chance at guest designing in June.

CAS Mix-Up January

I made this card a while ago for the CAS Mix-Up Challenge and am just getting around to posting it.  I spent an afternoon playing with my Brushos and cling wrap and this is one of the backgrounds that came out of it.

I thought it looked a little like a jungle so I added the die cut MFT leaves and sentiment from TT.  I need to turn the rest of the panels into cards but that may wait until I play some more with the new colors of Brushos that just arrived.

If you follow me you know I've been sewing sofa cushions. They are done and into the hands of my DIL.  Spending time doing that put me behind in commenting and cardmaking.  It didn't take long for my desk, which is also my sewing table, to get covered with bits and pieces of new cards.  They'll be showing up here shortly.

Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

I don't often participate in the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop but since I now have a couple of images that I can use for it, I have a card to enter.

I paper pieced the cup from Altenew and stamped in some coffee (that I don't drink).  The postage stamp die was cut from a snippet that I thought matched one of the colors in the cup and  placed that on some Ripe Avocado that I ran through my fabric embossing folder.  I'd love for you to join me in a cuppa anything you like to drink. ;)
