Time Out #308

There's an interesting challenge for us all at Time Out.

That clear element can be anything from a shaker window to an acetate card base and everything in between.  I went with the acetate base.

If you think photographing gold and silver are difficult, this is worse.  I couldn't lay the card down and everything shows behind it but you get the picture.   The acetate is from Pinkfresh Studio as is the washi image that is on the front.  After placing the wide washi tape on cardstock, it was die cut along with three other pieces to use to back the floral one and then have a place for a sentiment on the inside.

The sentiment is from BetterPress foiled in gold.

What will your element be?  There is wonderful inspiration from the Design Team and our guest designer Verena on the blog post.  We are being sponsored by Uniko who is offering our winner a $25 store credit.

Freshly Made Sketches #685

There are so many ways you can use Linda's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and after a bit of thought about what a the main focus would be, this is what I came up with.

I was gifted some washi tape from PFS a while ago and the roll was still sitting in my drawer.  The largest image worked great for the center panel.  Gold foil embossed with the same Tasteful Textile folder as the C9 Briar Rose background and a simple foiled sentiment finished it off.

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a great weekend.

Just Us Girls #745 - Mood Board/Photo Week

Ina is our host at Just Us Girls and she has this delightful photo to inspire our cards for Mood Board/Photo Week.

I participated in PinkFresh Studio's Create and Connect in August and thought this card would be perfect for the challenge.  (I must admit that I couldn't take the classes when offered because of my granddaughter's wedding, but I'm slowing watching the videos and making cards with the wonderful products that were included.)

The card is made with washi tape designed by Dawn Woleslagle, who also was the class instructor.  It's called Cozy Blooms and also includes dies, a stamp set and stencil.   The labels called Dotted Fancy Frames and the sentiment and die are all part of the kit.  Unfortunately the gold highlights don't show in the photo.

The Design Team and our guest Nance have some wonderful Spring florals for you to see.  Check them out and then add a card to our gallery.  We'd love to see you there.

Inspired by Friends

Although this blog post is entitled Inspired by Friends, it could also be called Amazed by Friends.  That is often the case when I see the creations of the friends who have joined me today in a collaborative post.  It all started when Bonnie sent some PinkFresh Dahlia Washi die cuts to me, Michele and Marcia.  We were to each make a card and post it today.  I can't wait to see how everyone used these beautiful images.

You all know how difficult it is to take a photo with gold (or silver) foil so I took a number of them before I could get one that was decent.

The foil is cut with the Nesting Rectangle Frames from WaffleFlower, and layered two high in the center and four on the outside.  The outside frame was attached to pale pink cardstock and the inner one to white, after adhering the flowers, and then the two put together.  A foiled sentiment from Poppystamps finished it off.

Are you ready to see what my friends have done?  Click on their names and the link will take you to their blog post where you can oooh and aaah and be amazed like I'm sure I will be.  Thanks, Bonnie, for bringing us together for this day of fun and friendship and for inspiring me every day.

Merry Monday #198, Muse #159 and CASology #191

I have three cards ready for last minute deadlines and so they will all be on this one post.  First up is Merry Monday.
We were to base our card on a Christmas carol and I used a PB stamp embossed in gold, with Silent Night as my sentiment.  The gold mat is some packaging I saved from my husband's cologne.

Next is Muse and the inspiration from Jenni Murray.
I went with the poppy matted in black of her lovely card.
Mine is from Sheena Douglas, colored with Inktense pencils. A sentiment from PB and a few spatters finishes it off.

Last up is my card for CASology whose cue word is 'washi'.  I'm not much of a washi person but I did win a roll along with some other items a while ago. I worked my card around it.
The washi has gold stripes so I added a gold word die and then thought it needed a little something else.  I ended up cutting a CF die from vellum and coloring on the back to tie in the washi colors. That green cs has a lovely sheen to it.

That's it from me today.  Thanks for dropping by and have a great weekend.

City Crafter Challenge #251

City Crafter is a new challenge for me but I was directed here by the lovely Darnell, who is their guest designer for the month of March.  She and the rest of the design team have created some wonderful inspiration for you featuring washi tape.

I only have 4 rolls of washi tape. I bought a black and white polka dot and a red and white chevron.  Then I got one in a kit, and won one.  Guess what they are?  Yep, the same two rolls.  And I didn't use either one on my card.  Instead I used a washi tape 6 x 6 pad from WeR Memorykeepers.  SSS's handwritten borders was used for the sentiment and placed between strips of the tape.  This is, as Darnell would say, QACAS.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great weekend!
