52 Christmas Card Throwdown - 14.2023

My Christmas stash is still growing thanks to 52 Christmas Card Throwdown.  Today's challenge is red and green.

After stamping the images from SSS's Winter Flowers, I heat embossed in clear.   I was inspired by a friend to use my Inktense pencils to color them.  The panel was cut with The Greetery's Nordic Frames and splattered with Distress Ink.  The sentiment is from Penny Black.

In case this isn't red enough, I have another card using Altenew watercolors.

Same heat embossed images on watercolor paper, placed on a panel cut with an Altenew Mix and Match Frame to let the red cs show through.

Perfectly CAS #9

I don't have a lot of animal stamps but I do have a few that are adorable and wanted to color one up for the Perfectly CAS challenge.
I mean look at that mouse. Isn't he the cutest thing ever?  I colored him with Inktense pencils and used the sentiment that came with the PB set.

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a great day!

The Flower Challenge #43 - Reminder

There's still time to make a card for The Flower Challenge
Our sponsor is Bugaboo and I'm using the same digital image they gave me for this reminder, sizing it differently.
The panel was cut with a scalloped oval from MFT and colored the teapot with Inktense pencils.   It's placed on some Summer Sunrise cardstock (appropriate for the theme don't you think?) that was embossed with Seeing Spots.  I decided to forego a sentiment.

Why not check out the our guest designer Trina Pham and the rest of the Design Team's cards for inspiration and make a card for this challenge.  You could win a $12 gift card to the Bugaboo digital store.

Freshly Made Sketches #419

I was in the middle of making a valentine when I realized with a little tweaking it would fit the challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.
I cut a panel with PTI's Tipped Top and made a honeycomb with a stencil from Funky Fossil Designs and Distress Ink, clear embossing it to make it shine like honey.  The little RC bee was colored with Inktense pencils and popped up on an action wobbler over a heat embossed sentiment from MCS (OOB).  This will go to one of my great-grandchildren.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope your weekend went well and that your week does too.

Just Us Girls #520 - Photo Week

What a lovely photo Vicki has chosen
for this week's challenge at Just Us Girls.
Butterflies always make a nice card and while I have a few different butterfly stamps I went with the one that looks most like the Monarchs that Michele blooms every year.
The background is Altenew Spicy Yogurt cardstock stamped with their Wildflower Garden in Sand Dunes ink.  The largest butterfly is from Happy Little Stampers and the smaller two from Catherine Pooler. I colored them with Inktense pencils although the small one was first stamped directly on the card with Maple Yellow.  I added the black outline with my Micro pen.  It seems I'm in need of sympathy cards lately so I chose a sentiment from PTI.

The Design Team would love to see your photo inspired cards in our gallery.  Check them out for inspiration and enter the challenge for a chance to be Chic of the Week and a guest designer.

Addicted to CAS #172

Addicted to CAS is celebrating its 7th Birthday and Vicki thought we should make birthday cards for this week's challenge.

The image is an MFT stamp that I think was a freebie a loooong time ago and rarely if ever used.  I thought it was about time.
I colored her with Inktense pencils forgetting that I don't have a very good one for skin. :(  A little smudge forced me to use the flower sequins and now I think they add to the celebratory feel.

The Design Team has some wonderful birthday cards for you to see.  I hope it inspires you to make a card and help us celebrate.

CAS Watercolor - Poppy

One of my favorite flowers is the centerpiece of the challenge at CAS Watercolor.  The poppy.  They come in many colors but I did mine in the traditional red.
The stamp from Sheena Douglas is colored with Inktense pencils.  I am in need of sympathy cards so I added the sentiment from HA.

ETA:  Judy suggested I send my card to Double D Challenge where they have this as the mood board.
Thanks, Judy.  I'd say my poppies fit it nicely.

Thanks for dropping by.

Addicted to CAS #156

Here's a chance to try out a technique.  The code word at Addicted to CAS is
There are a few ways to get the ombre look.  Here's what I did.
I blended Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink from light to dark on Bristol and placed that panel behind one that had been die cut with a LF circle.  The little owl from GS is colored with Inktense pencils and everything is popped up.

Our guest designer for this challenge is Hannelie.  Please be sure to check out her card and those of the rest of the Design Team over on the blog for more inspiration.

AAA Cards #133

Happy Valentine's Day!  I have a card made just for the occasion.

If you know me at all you know I have to go with the optional twist on a challenge.  AAA Cards option was one layer which is not my favorite but it brings out the rebel in me.
This is an NBUS stamp from Penny Black that I heat embossed in silver and colored with Inktense pencils in various shades of red/pink.

Thanks for dropping by.

Christmas Kickstart #3

Since my favorite Christmas card challenge bit the dust I had to find a new one to spur me on throughout the year.  I've made a card today for the Christmas Kickstart challenge - Festive Felines.
I stamped these PB images one day at Michele's and I'm not sure I planned the layout very well so I filled in with a Concord and 9th sentiment and some doodling around the edges.  The cat and mouse were colored with Inktense pencils, adding a little puff embossing powder to their hats.

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a great weekend.

CASology #330

I'm trying to use some of my older stamps and found a perfect one for the CASology challenge - bouquet.
Two irises do a bouquet make, right?  They're from PB, colored with Inktense pencils. The sentiment is also from PB stamped with the new purple from Altenew.

Thanks for dropping by.

Fusion - Penguin Love

When I saw the challenge at Fusion I had to use my MFT penguins.  Actually they are the only penguins I have and were a gift from Michele.  Fortunately she sent me some die cuts with it because the dies have been out of stock forever.  They came back to EH Saturday so I quickly put in my order before they're gone again.
These cuties were colored with Inktense pencils and placed on a torn snow bank with a Distress Ink sky behind them.

Thanks for dropping by today.  I hope your week is off to a good start.

Addicted to CAS #152

One of my favorite things to do is watch birds at my bird feeders.  This week Vicki has chosen the word "Birds" for our challenge at Addicted to CAS.  I love all birds but I do have one favorite and he's on my card.
Isn't he the cutest? I colored him with Inktense pencils and perched him on a hand cut branch embossed with a sentiment from the set.  I had to add snow to the branch with some High White ep and then added just a touch of  Distress Ink 'sky' behind him.

There are a variety of birds on the cards made by the Design Team.  Head on over to the blog to check them out and then pull out one of your bird stamps and make a card.  Just make sure it CAS.

AAA Cards #132

There are widespread internet outages in Michigan today due to the cold.  I'm hurrying to post this card in case mine goes too.

I have what I think is a perfect image for the AAA Cards and their "Use 1/3 of your card" challenge.
The candles are from Concord and 9th colored with Inktense Pencils.  The sentiment is from PTI.

Thanks for dropping by.

Ellen Hutson's 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist II

I have another tag for the 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist challenge.  This one was inspired by Kelly Griglione on day 9 - watercolor tags.
The little owl is from Winnie and Walter, colored with Inktense pencils.  Here are Kelly's darling tags.

I'll have another one tomorrow.

Addicted to Stamps and More #322

This is the Make Your Mark challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More where you use paint, pencil, ink and even crayons if you want on your card. For my card I used Inktense pencils.

I love this Mondo Holly from EbyE.  All it needed  was a simple sentiment from Penny Black.

This will be my last post for Addicted to Stamps and More.  I have decided to step down from the Design Team but I want to thank Kylie for having me for the past three years.

Thanks to all of you for your wonderful entries into our gallery and for the kindly comments you've left on my blog.  I hope to see you in this gallery too so get busy making your mark.
