Tic Tac Toe #252

Today's card is for Tic Tac Toe.

I used the right column down and I hope just one flower qualifies. ;)

I wanted to use the freebie Bee dies from Sizzix that I got with an order and thought one would look great with the Sunrise Stem from SSS.  Everything was cut from Bristol and colored with Zigs with the exception of the bee's wings which are vellum.  The card looked rather plain so I masked off the edges and inked the center with Squeezed Lemonade.

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a great week!

Just Us Girls #692 - Word Week

It's Word Week at Just Us Girls and the word of the week as chosen by Lisa K is

I tried to replicate a hive using a dome die from MFT and a stencil from Funky Fossil.  The dome was cut,  the sentiment stamped and heat embossed after which the panel was embossed with the Subtle background folder.  Two more panels were cut to pop it up over the stencil done in Fossilized Amber DI.  I didn't like how white the lines were so I used what was left on my blending brush to go over it.  The little bees from Reverse Confetti  were heat embossed, colored with artist markers and popped up on the card.

The Design Team has their bee cards just waiting for you to take a look and be inspired.  I hope we see your card in our gallery.

Freshly Made Sketches #425

Freshly Made Sketches knows how to challenge me and I like that.  After a couple days of thinking, I came up with this card.
I knew I could use my Pinkfresh hexagons for the trio of images. I looked in my WTDWT (what to do with this) drawer and found a background I had created using Distress Oxides on photo paper, wiping it with a baby wipe to bring out the color.  Then all I had to do was add the RC sentiment and a bee colored with PolyChromos pencils.

Thanks to FMS for another fun sketch and thanks to you for dropping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #419

I was in the middle of making a valentine when I realized with a little tweaking it would fit the challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.
I cut a panel with PTI's Tipped Top and made a honeycomb with a stencil from Funky Fossil Designs and Distress Ink, clear embossing it to make it shine like honey.  The little RC bee was colored with Inktense pencils and popped up on an action wobbler over a heat embossed sentiment from MCS (OOB).  This will go to one of my great-grandchildren.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope your weekend went well and that your week does too.

CAS Stencil - April Reminder.

There's still time for you to get out your embossing pastes/gels and join the challenge at CAS Stencil.
I hope you'll head on over to the blog to see what fabulousness the Design Team has for you but first take a look at my card as this month's guest designer.
I colored my translucent paste with - you guessed it! - Wild Honey Distress Ink and put it through my Funky Fossil stencil onto yellow cardstock.  It didn't have enough color variation so I added a little Rusty Hinge to what was left on my mat a gave it a quick once over.  While my panel was drying, I cut the PTI Polaroid die ,stamped the RC sentiment and colored the bee with Zigs, adding WOS to his wings.  I put it all together on a top folding card, popping the bee up with foam.

I hope to see you in the gallery.

CASology #291 and AAA Cards #111

I almost forgot about CASology this week and so I sat down and made this card for their 'bug' challenge in about 10 minutes.
Basing my design on the challenge at AAA Cards to use 1/3 of your card, I used my Funky Fossil stencil with Wild Honey Distress Ink.  I added the sentiment and bee from RC, coloring him with Zigs and adding some SN Sparkle to his wings.

Thanks for letting me invade your feed again today so I could get this in before the deadline.

CAS(E) This Sketch #255

There are so many stamps you can use and so many way to interpret a sketch challenge that it can be overwhelming at times.  Case in point - this week's sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch.
It just happened that I got a prize package from Leigh last week and in it was the perfect RC stamp set for this challenge.  It was only a matter of implementing it.
I knew I was going to use the hive and bee but floundered a little about the strip across the card.  Nothing I tried pleased me until I thought about the honey itself and it all came together with some watercolored DOX in what else but Wild Honey - and some Glossy Accents.

I'm glad you dropped by.  I hope you have a bee-utiful day.
