Just Us Girls #613

Welcome to 2022 and the first Just Us Girls challenge of the year.  It's a word challenge and Nancy has chosen this:

You might be thinking alcohol since yesterday was New Year's Eve but I went in a totally different direction.

The teacup and saucer from Altenew were stamped on PTI Aqua Mist, heat embossed and then stamped with spots that dried back way more that I thought they would.  The sentiment from the same set was stamped before running the panel through my die cutting machine with the STAMPlorations coverplate.   More Aqua Mist was used for a border, with both panels being cut to size with Waffle Flower A2 layers dies.

We are welcoming two new members to our Design Team.  Lisa Elton and Carol McFarland.  You will want to check out both their challenge card and their blogs to see their beautiful cards.

We also have two guest designers in January, Chrissie Stokes and Stef Perry.  They also have some wonderfully creative cards on their blogs as well as a card to inspire you to join the challenge.  We hope to see you there.

CASology #364

The challenge at CASology sparked an idea right away so I had to make a card using their code word:  Tea
The tea cup and sentiment, both embossed in gold,  are from Altenew.  I paper pieced the cup from an old paper pack.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope your weekend is going well and you're keeping safe.

Fusion - Tea and Bouquets

While going through my challenge list I came across the Fusion photo and decided to make a card.  I can't tell you how many times I remade the card and am still not satisfied with it but I'm going to post it anyway.
Now that I see it on the big screen it looks a little better to me.  The background and cup are papers that were a gift from Nancy.  In true Fusion fashion I followed the sketch by placing the cup on two layers of vellum, one cut with a PTI tag that I turned around and cut the tag portion off. That set also includes the label that the MFT sentiment is on.

Thanks for dropping by.  I love it when you do.

Inspired By Challenge # 12

I'm popping in tonight with a quick card I made for Inspired By.
The cup and flower are from Uniko, the sentiment from PTI.  I stamped a script background from PB on Soft Stone cs for the base and colored the images with Zigs after heat embossing the outlines.

Thanks for dropping by.

Inspired By ...Kitchen Love

There's another interesting photo image to spark creativity at the Inspired By... challenge.
I picked up on the colors, hearts, and tea.
The Altenew tea cup was paper pieced and the sentiment heat embossed.  I'd enjoy having a cup of tea with any of my bloggie friends.  How do you take yours?

Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

I don't often make cards for the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop but since you don't actually have to be a coffee drinker to enter, I've made a card.
I thought this DSP would make a darling tea cup.  The cup and sentiment are from Altenew.

Thanks for dropping by.

Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

I don't often participate in the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop but since I now have a couple of images that I can use for it, I have a card to enter.

I paper pieced the cup from Altenew and stamped in some coffee (that I don't drink).  The postage stamp die was cut from a snippet that I thought matched one of the colors in the cup and  placed that on some Ripe Avocado that I ran through my fabric embossing folder.  I'd love for you to join me in a cuppa anything you like to drink. ;)

CASology #249

Is it warm enough for you?  Not for me.  We went to the lake Saturday to rake leaves and put in the dock (it's a community effort) and there were white caps on the lake.  I'm glad I didn't have to go into the water but the guys who did all had waders on.

Why am I telling you this?  Because the cue word at CASology this week is "Warm".   I thought of doing mittens and a scarf because that's how I was feeling but totally went a different way once I saw the sentiment on the Altenew Vintage Cups set.

The cup, flowers and sentiment are all heat embossed in gold on Bristol.  A little Zig action colored in where it was needed and I have another prayer card for a dear friend's sister who is going through aggressive chemo.

I'm also sending my card to AAA Cards.  They are asking for embossing on your card.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope your week is off to a good start.

Tag You're It! #64

Team B is up on Tag You're It! this week and Lynn Put has our inspiration tag.

This is what I did based on her colorful creation.
I used a HA tag, Uniko tea cup and sentiment, MCS scalloped border and patterned paper from my stash.

We'd love to see your tag in the gallery so check out what the Design Team has done and get inspired to make a tag of your own.

The Card Concept #56, Less is More #277 and CASology #200

I have two cards today using the same Tim Holtz die that Judy Woodland urged me to get.  :)  The first one is for The Card Concept.

After noticing the cutwork tablecloth in the photo, I knew I could use the die, layering it over some pink cs. The cup and flower are from Uniko, colored with Distress Ink.  The sentiment from HLS and the cup were both embossed with Liquid Platinum.
The Less Is More challenge is a sketch.
I thought the same die would work for this challenge too.
Using Granite ink, I stamped the 'hugs' from SSS and the bird from Altenew, fussy cutting around them and mounting them on foam tape.

It's CASology's 200 challenge and they're going back to their roots - CAS.  I think this card qualifies - one main image, lots of white space, easy to reproduce.

I find myself doing a lot more CAS cards lately.  What's gotten into me?

CAS(E) This Sketch #162, Inspired by All the Little Things #5, and NBUS #6

Here are a couple more of the cards I mentioned yesterday.  This first one is for CAS(E) This Sketch.
Stamp of Approval box to the rescue.  The Casual Fridays sentiment was the starting point for my card and a set from Sugar Pea Designs provides the images.
My next card is for a new-ish challenge: "Inspired by All the Little Things", another Lesley Croghan creation.  The photo inspiration is gorgeous.
I just got a new stamp set from Uniko and it was perfect for the challenge.
I had the darnedest time trying to photograph the gold embossing.  Even with a light tent it wanted to look black.  I finally laid it down in front of a window and it still doesn't look as gorgeous as it does IRL.  I had intended to put that Altenew butterfly on the rim of the cup but guess what?  Yup, another smudge.  I think it was from the pink I used to color the images. Fortunately the butterfly fit over it and it looks like she's coming in for a landing.

I'm also using this for my second entry into Darnell's NBUS challenge.
I'd better get back to work on a couple of cards that are eating at my brain. I have practice tonight for a play we're doing for Maundy Thursday so I won't be able to get much done after.

Thanks for dropping by.
