TIme Out # 244 -

This week we challenge you to be monochromatic at Time Out.

I saw a video from Jennifer McGuire on using up your glitter and decided that technique would work for my monochromatic card.

I don't often use glitter so don't have much that is colorful but I happend to have these two greens that came from the grocery store I think.  I used an Altenew double sided adhesive sheet on my card panel before adhering the die cut from their Curtain Leaves.  Then I proceeded to add the glitter, pressing it into the adhesive.  For a sentiment I used Altenew's Sweet Sentiments dies, cutting the word from the same paper as the leaves and the shadow from some that matched the darker green.

The sponsor of this challenge is Varada Sharma and she is offering two $15 credits to her digital store.

The Design Team has some wonderful monochrome cards for  your inspiration.  Please check them out.

Time Out #130

Time Out has this as a word prompt.  What to do?  What to do?
I finally came up with something - again in the early morning thoughts.
I combined the rather sedate and drab GS owl with the brightly billed MFT toucan.  They are placed on a CF word die, layered three times, that is glued over a stenciled background from HA. The minor sentiment was computer generated.  I didn't use a word bubble because depending on your perspective, either of these birds is unique.

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a nice weekend.

CASology #282

That's right.  We're giving hugs today.  Paper hugs at CASology.
I got out my seldom used hugs card die from Concord and 9th and stamped hearts on it.  Have you seen this die?  The card opens like this:

One Valentine for my family down.  I'm in the process of making 14 valentine card kits for my church Circle to make on Wednesday for our homebound people.  I usually make and send them myself but they wanted something to do.  I have the layered panels cut.  Now for sentiments and embellishments.

We had a warm up day yesterday to melt all the snow and then it came again last night.  The temperature went from 52+ to a high of 20 today.  I'm beginning to think Mother Nature is schizophrenic.

Thanks for dropping by.

Inspired By All the Little Things #67

I was looking at my challenge list and realized I hadn't checked out this week's Inspired By All the Little Things.  With Darnell as host, and Bonnie as guest designer, I had to make a card so that's what I've been doing this morning.  Here's the inspiration photo.

I was inspired by the little white pumpkins and fall leaves.

The word die from CP was cut three times which explains the blurriness.  Some patterned paper for the leaves,  pumpkins and something for them to sit on was all I needed to pull it together.

Thanks for dropping by. I may be back later with more cards after I retake the photos.  Even with the light box and photo editing program, they aren't turning out as well as I'd like.  It's amazing how things change when seeing them on the big screen.  And some things barely visible to the naked eye look like big mistakes.

Merry Monday #250

Rustic is right up my alley so of course I had to make a card for Merry Monday.
The wood is a background stamp from Altenew that I stamped on watercolor paper in both Gathered Twigs and Black Soot Distress Inks, brushing with water in between.  The wreath from WPlus9 is stamped in four layers with a little watering to give it a softer look, except for the red embossed berries.  It took a while to come up with a way to do a sentiment. I was going to hang another piece of wood from the bow with a stamped sentiment but that didn't feel quite right. Enter the TH word dies. Both the word and bow are tripled embossed in Liquid Platinum.  Now that I'm looking at it I wish I'd done a burlap bow of some kind but it would have to be tiny burlap, or maybe jute.  Well, too late now.  The challenge is closing soon and I don't have time for a redo.  Maybe it will be a 'do another'. ;)

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope your weekend is off to a good start.

CTS # 138, HLS Sketch and Virginia's View #18

I hit the triplex again.  Three challenges with one card.  I started with the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch,

got inspired by the sketch at Happy Little Stampers,

and knew my resulting card would fit right in at Virginia's View.

It just so happens that I got the perfect die from SSS.

The sentiment is also a new die from SSS and the background has been treated with the PTI Linen Impression plate.  Zigs were used to add the color.

Do you notice a difference in the photo?  I finally broke down and bought a light tent and lights.  I'm not sure I got quite the results I want (yet) but it's a far cry better than what I've been doing.  My brother and sister-in-law gave me a love gift as a thank you for all I do for our parents, part of which I spent on the kit.  I think it's appropriate that this card goes to them.

Thanks for stopping by.  I always appreciate your visits and comments.

Addicted to Stamps #161

Talk about time getting away from you.  I realized at 3:00 Tuesday afternoon that I hadn't made a card for my Design Team assignment at Addicted to Stamps and More this week and it needed to be posted by 7:00 pm.  I could have sworn I did one but I guess not.  I must be thinking of last time. Sometimes my mind fails me. ;)  Fortunately the theme is Anything Goes and I have been wanting to try this technique that Jennifer McGuire had on her blog a while ago.  Hence my quickly thrown together yet rather attractive card.

I planned on doing a get well card but once I blended Abandoned Coral and Wild Honey Distress Inks onto my paper, it looked like Fall to me.  I changed gears and cut the word die from MFT from Dark Chocolate, which is also my card base.  The secret to the card is the gold Perfect Pearls that has been dusted over the DI before embossing with my newest ef from Sizzix.

It should be easy for you to enter this week since the theme is Anything Goes.  You'll find great inspiration from the Design Team over on the blog. And there are double prizes for the winner.

Tag You're It #29

When you win a challenge, you're obliged to enter the next one.  That's not a rule, just my personal feeling, so here's my tag for this week's Tag You're It!  The lovely and talented Carol Mayne made this wonderful card for our inspiration.  In fact, this is my second Just Me:c CASEing this week.

I took the colors of pink, white and black, and the word die and made this card.

A double cut tag, one white and one black, are adorned with pink watercolored Artful Flowers.  The silver word die is from a Christmas set from SSS and the stamped sentiment is from Clearly Besotted. A little Spun Sugar was inked around the edges.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderfully creative week.
