Freshly Made Sketches #669 and NBUS #70

I was trying to figure out what to do for Freshly Made Sketches when I spied a card I made earlier for one of my family valentines.  As I looked at it, I could see the sketch.  I hope the gals at FMS do too.

This is a new stamp from Penny Black called Stole my Heart. It's stamped on Bristol and colored with Zigs.  The sentiment is from SSS.  Since this is the first outing, I'm also sending my card to NBUS #70.

Thanks for dropping by.

ETA:  At Loll's suggestion, and because I was originally going to post this there, I'm sending my card to Penny Black Saturday Challenge

Time Out #230 - Inspired by Words

It's time for the Inspired by Words challenge at TIme Out.  You can use any part of the quote or the feeling it evokes to make your card.

Word challenges are not always easy for me but sometimes an idea just pops into your head and it seems to be the perfect card.

I knew right away I wanted to use these darling bears from Penny Black.  I had to mask off the presents that were in the foreground and extend the dock.  The image is colored with PolyChromos pencils. A heart from EbyE and some paper from Honey Bee finished it off.

AALL and Create is the sponsor for this challenge and the winner will receive a $20 store credit.

If you need some inspiration, the Design Team has wonderful cards for you on the blog.

CAS Christmas November 2021

I don't do a lot of critter cards but I do have a few favorites so I knew I could make a card for the CAS Christmas challenge.  Then instead of using one of my own stamp sets, I used some images I found in my Bits & Pieces box that I got from Michele a long time ago.

The darling bears are from Sweet Pea Designs and are colored with Zigs.  I softly inked the background and hills with Distress Ink.  For the sentiment I used one of the Bearware add-ons from Essentials by Ellen, stamping and heat embossing the words on black and cutting them apart.   I see Papa's nose looks a little funny.  It must be a glare from the black glaze pen.

I'm so glad you dropped by.  Please come back again.

Inspired By #191

Inspired By has really been inspiring me lately.  Today I have two cards for their challenge, one based on the regular photo and one for the Christmas one.  I'll start with the Christmas one first.

I was taken by the red shoes in the photo (see below) so I started there with the Bear from EbyE.  Then pulling out some ancient patterned paper I made the scarf, his present and the ones beside him.  They were stamped with another EbyE set and fussy cut.  Can you see the words on the packages? They are the same as the sentiment. I also used some of the paper for a panel behind what was supposed to be a gray background for the bear.  I had him all glued down when I saw the gray piece on my desk that I planned to use.  Oops.

I couldn't leave out his cousin brown bear so I made another card with him, stamping him in brown and adding a little shading with colored pencil and black glaze on his eyes and nose.

Michele sent me the wagon that she colored with Copics and the contents uncolored quite a while ago when they first came out from EH.  I colored the pumpkins and gourds with Distress Ink and place them on a white panel stamped with a sentiment from CB. The border is an experimentation with smooshing Oxide inks that didn't come out very well but I didn't want to waste it.

I'm glad you dropped by to see what I've been up to.

AAA Cards #199

One layer cards are not my favorite but I had the perfect image for the challenge at AAA Cards - No layers with the option of hugs.

The image is from Penny Black and originally had a stack of gifts where the SSS sentiment is.  I masked them off and then drew in some of the dock lines with a pen.  The coloring was done with Zigs.

I'm so glad you dropped by.

Just Us Girls #546 - Photo Week

It's Photo Week at Just Us Girls and our host Lisa has chose this for your inspiration.
I don't have any carnival rides or anything similar in my stamps so I had to think outside the box.

This PB set has two bears together like the girls on the ride.  Using Zigs, I painted the dock red like the cars in the photo and stenciled the sky with Distress Ink.

The Design Team and our guest Trina Pham have cards to give you ideas on the blog.  We'd love to see your card in the gallery.

CAS Christmas - November

That's right, friends.  I'm a guest designer at CAS Christmas after winning the challenge in September with this card.  I'm so happy to join the designers for their November challenge.
My first idea for a card I'll show you on the reminder post but after my craft session with Michele and Marcia and the sharing of stamp sets, I'm showing this card today.
Michele's bears from Sugar Pea Designs are so cute I couldn't resist them and they are warm and cozy dressed in sweaters and scarves colored with Distress Ink.  I also had the sentiment from Penny Black that gets the idea across.  To make it a little more Christmas-y I added the tree from MFT.

Want to see what the Design Team did?  Let's head on over to CAS Christmas for some wonderful inspiration.

Addicted to CAS #171

Jaydee is our host this week at Addicted to CAS.
Her choice for a code word is
I had to think long and hard about this one since I don't have any specific hero stamps. Early one morning I came up with an idea and with the help of Evernote found a sentiment to use.
I started with one of the embossed panels that Darnell graciously made for me.  I love that embossed frame but the folder is no longer available.  To it I added a yellow SSS frame and the EBE bears.  Next came the die cut and layered 'you' (which is really navy not black) and the rest of the stamped sentiment by CF for CP.

The Design Team and I would love to see your hero card in the gallery.  Check the blog for inspiration.

Twofer Card Challenge #15

I know there are more animals than bears in the zoo and I have a few but I couldn't figure out how to do two cards for two occasions that are necessary for the Twofer Card Challenge.  So bears it is.
And I mean the bear from EBE with all his accouterments.

Up first is summer bear.
This one is cut from Desert Storm and shaded with PolyChromos.  All the other images are colored with Distress Inks including the background.  His sunglasses have some Pearl Pen on them for shine.

Next is Halloween bear.
I couldn't help but dress him up as Elphaba and print out the sentiment on my computer.  I don't know why the color is off and the card looks askew but you'll have to take it as it is.

This is such a fun challenge and if you haven't tried it, you should.  Here is the prompt for this challenge
and here are the guidelines.
Thanks for dropping by.  Have a great day!
