Double D Challenge -Wheels and Inkspirational #272

I was having fun with my Newton's Nook Destination Christmas stamps and realized my cards fit into the Double D and Inkspirational challenges.  This is one of them.

I went looking for some patterned paper for the background and found this one from Echo Park.  I colored the truck to go with it, although the blue in the paper is much darker.  The small panel was cut with The Greetery's Crimped Frames and that paper is really more the color of the background.  I was having so much trouble photographing and editing my cards today.  😞  It must be the weather.

The Flower Challenge #62 - Add Leaves

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our 5th birthday celebration.  There were a lot of wonderful cards in the gallery and the winners of the challenge and prizes will be announced soon.  Meanwhile we have a new challenge for you.

This month The Flower Challenge wants you to add leaves to your flower.

I'm using an image from Waffle Flower that I colored earlier with my Altenew alcohol markers.

I die cut it and placed it on a panel that was lightly inked with Shabby Shutters DI before adding a simple sentiment.

Our guest designer for this month is the very talented Dhruvika.  Please check out what she and the Design Team have made adding leaves, then join us in the gallery.  We'd love to see your card there.

The Flower Challenge #57

I know this may be difficult for some of you ;) but this month The Flower Challenge is looking for clean and simple cards.

I stamped the image from WPlus9 on the edge of my cardstock and colored it with Altenew alcohol markers.  All I needed to complete the card was a simple sentiment.

The Design Team and our guest designer Rachel Alvarado would love to see your CAS cards in our gallery.  Remember to feature flowers and leave lots of 'white' space.  The winner of the challenge will receive three digital images of their choice totaling $25 from Joy Clair Designs.

Just Us Girls #578 - Word Week

Here's an easy one for you.  Our host Angie has chosen this for Word Week at Just Us Girls.

Didn't I say it was easy? I went back and forth trying to decide what stripes to use.  In the end I used a die cut panel.
While I was away I colored the Christmas Rose from WPlus9 with Altenew artist markers. I added that image along with the striped die cut to Harvest Gold cardstock by PTI.  The sentiment is from Your Next Stamp.

Our guest designer Claire and the rest of the Design Team are waiting to see what stripes you use on your card.  For inspiration, go to the Just Us Girls blog to see what they've made.

Just Us Girls #574 - Word Week

Our host Ina has chosen this for our Word Week challenge at Just Us Girls.

I wanted to use my long neglected koala stamp set from SSS.

I may or may not have mentioned that I treated myself to the Altenew alcohol markers for Christmas and used them to color these sweet little bears.  Not the best job but it's a learning curve. They are stamped on stitched circles with one for the sentiment.  I mounted an embossed background on blue cardstock and added all the circles.  I love using a black glaze pen for their eyes and noses.

I wonder what animals we'll find on the blog.  Shall we go see what the Design Team and our guest designer Shawna Standish have done?

CAS(E) This Sketch #405

Sadly this card is for the very last challenge of CAS(E) This Sketch.  It's a retro challenge and one that  I entered in 2013.

Here is what I did then.

And what I did now.

I won a gift certificate to Newton's Nook and chose these darling little vehicles all decked out with Christmas trees.  I brought it with me since it was new and I'm glad I did since it's the only thing  I would have been able to use and even at that it's not quite true to the sketch.  For the strip I happened to have the LF woodgrain panel so I trimmed it down to place behind my vehicles colored with Altenew alcohol markers.  The markers are new to me and I've been spending some time while away getting used to them.  As you can see I still need a lot of work. ;)

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you are staying safe and well.

The Flower Challenge #52 - Reminder

There's still time to join us at The Flower Challenge for our embossing challenge.  My earlier card had an embossed background.  This card features embossed flowers.

In fact the Christmas Rose from WPlus9 is gold embossed on vellum.  I saw this card from Jaycee and love it so much I had to make my own version.  After embossing I colored on the back with my new alcohol markers from Altenew.  The word die from SSS was cut from gold foil cs. The photography isn't very good but you can still see some of the shine.

The rest of the Design Team has cards to inspire you.  Will we see your embossed card in the gallery?  Just remember that flowers must be the focal point.

Just Us Girls #537 - Photo Week

I'm responsible for choosing the photo for this week's challenge at Just Us Girls and I hope I don't scare you away.
The minute I saw this I thought of my STAMPlorations stencil and based my card on the chairs.  But look closely.  There are fish and plants, candles and oranges.  I can't wait to see what inspires you.
Using Fine Linen cardstock, I inked the stencil with Antique Linen Distress Ink so I could see the images and then colored them with alcohol markers. The panel was cut with a stitched rectangle, mounted on blue with a sentiment from Altenew.

Need inspiration?  The Design Team has some waiting for you.
