The Paper Players #729

This is my second post of the day.  The deadline for The Paper Players is fast approaching and I just saw it this morning.  Nothing like quickly making a card to keep you on your toes.

Joanne asked for a single stamped image on a clean and simple card and since I need alcohol marker practice and would like to add to my sympathy stash, I decided on these Penny Black Calla lilies called Elegance.  They are stamped in Memento London Fog and colored with Altenew artist markers. The sentiment is also from Penny Black.

Thanks for dropping by - again.  I really appreciate it.

Freshly Made Sketches #645

I'm on a roll with cards for Freshly Made Sketches.  Jen's sketch made it so easy this time.

The little bluebird is from WPlus9 and is colored with Zigs. The branch and leaves are from two different Honey Bee sets and the sentiment is from EbyE.  QACAS as Darnell would say.

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a great weekend.

Tic Tac Toe #242 and a Prayer card

Hey there crafty friends.  I'm so glad you dropped by.

Whether we like it or not, we have a need for sympathy cards and since my supply was getting low I decided to use the challenge at Tic Tac Toe to make a couple for my stash.

I used the left column down: CAS, metallic, foliage.   The  SSS leaf die was large enough to get two cards.  Cut from green metallic paper, half the branch was placed on a stitched panel I found in my Bits box.  The sentiment from Avery Elle was already in the package cut in this light green that I thought worked well.  Here's a close-up so you can see the metallic shine of the leaves.

And here's the card made with the other half of the leaves.  This one is on an embossed panel.

Sometimes I don't put a sentiment on a card, either because I don't know what to put or the card looks good without one, and that worked to my advantage since I needed a couple of prayer cards for friends having health issues.

I pulled this card from my birthday box and cut the SSS prayers die from the same Honey Bee paper that the flower was made from.  The sub-sentiment is from the same set as the die.

What about you?  Do you ever leave sentiments off to choose one when you need it?

Less Is More #491 and NBUS #54

Time is running out for Less Is More so I need to get my card posted.

This sweet little flower is from PinkFresh Studio's Beautiful Blooms stamp, die and stencil.  There are six florals in all with a die to cut three at a time.  I bought the set because I thought they would make a great set of notecards to give as a gift.  This one has a sentiment from Altenew.

I need to tell you a sad story that has a happy ending.  I pre-ordered the Waffle Flower Grip Mat along with this set from DoodlebugsWA and was so excited when the date for delivery was here.  When my husband handed me the package that had been hand delivered by the mail carrier, I discovered that someone had stolen the entire contents.  Fortunately Cathy at Doodlebugs insures her packages so I was able to file a claim with the Post Office and get my money back.  Of course by that time Grip Mats were out of stock again.  I did find one at Honey Bee so ordered it from there (along with a few other things).  I did end up reordering the PFS set from Cathy.  This card is the first time I've used either and I love them both.

Since this is the maiden voyage for these products, I will be sending my card to Darnell's NBUS

Thanks for dropping by.  I love it when you do.

The Flower Challenge #82 - Reminder

There is still plenty of time for you to make a clean and simple card for the challenge at The Flower Challenge.

For inspiration, please check out what our fabulous design team and guest designer Therese Calvird have created.

I made this card to show you that 'white' space doesn't have to be white.  As long as you leave plenty of empty space your card is clean and simple.  The flowers are from Altenew's Pen Sketched and have been added to Blueberry cardstock from PTI.  The sentiment is from The Ton.

Will we see your CAS card in our gallery?

The Flower Challenge #82

Happy Independence Day to those of you in the US.

It's time for another challenge at The Flower Challenge and this month the theme is CAS.

I love making CAS cards and it's even better when I find a flower already colored and filed in the stamp package.

This one is from Pinkfresh Studio and is colored with Altenew artist markers.  The heat embossed sentiment is from Hero Arts.

The design team and our wonderful guest designer Therese Calvird from Lost in Paper have some exceptional examples of CAS cards for your inspiration.  We hope you'll join us for this challenge.

Just Us Girls #653 - Trend Week

Sue is the host for Trend Week at Just Us Girls and she has chosen one of my favorites.

I received some stamps from a friend who was purging and thought this one from Penny Black would make a great CAS card.

It's stamped on Bristol and colored with Zigs.  The sentiment is from Altenew and try as I did I couldn't get a straight line.  That's okay.  It slants up just like my handwriting. LOL

I hope you'll join the Design Team and our guest Lynne Jardine in making a CAS card this week.  We'd love to see you in our gallery.  And who knows?  If you win,  you could be our next guest.

CAS Christmas July 2021

I got the Altenew Winter Florals a while ago on sale and thought I'd use it for a card for CAS Christmas - Poinsettia.

There are no dies so this is a one layer card stamped with Altenew ink.  I added the sentiment from SSS and a few black splatters.  This could be one of those multiples I never seem to do. ;)

AAA Cards #192 and Perfectly CAS #16

What's one of the best things about summer?  Besides warm weather and water sports it has to be S'mores.  That's where the challenge at AAA Cards (one corner, summer memories) took me.  Perfectly CAS has a one corner challenge too so my card is headed there.

All the images are from The Greetery and with the words on the chocolate I didn't need any other sentiment. Can't get much more clean and simple than that.  Not to mention yummy looking.  Now where did I put those marshmallows?

Thanks for dropping by.

The Flower Challenge #57 - Reminder

There's still time for you to make a clean and simple card for this month's The Flower Challenge.  You must feature flowers on your card but leave lots of space and have minimal layers and embellishments.  For examples, see what the Design Team and our guest designer Rachel Alvarado have made.

For my card, I stamped the Bergenia from Altenew along the edge and a few of the flowers on another piece of cardstock.  Those I colored with alcohol markers and glued in place.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

We'd love to see your card in our gallery.  The winner of the challenge will receive their choice of three digital images from Joy Clair Designs, totaling $25.

The Flower Challenge #57

I know this may be difficult for some of you ;) but this month The Flower Challenge is looking for clean and simple cards.

I stamped the image from WPlus9 on the edge of my cardstock and colored it with Altenew alcohol markers.  All I needed to complete the card was a simple sentiment.

The Design Team and our guest designer Rachel Alvarado would love to see your CAS cards in our gallery.  Remember to feature flowers and leave lots of 'white' space.  The winner of the challenge will receive three digital images of their choice totaling $25 from Joy Clair Designs.

CAS Mix-Up May 2021

It's stencil time at CAS Mix-up.  Stencil and rainbow ink blending.  How fun is that?!

I used a stencil from STAMPlorations that was a gift from a friend.  Using finger daubers I colored the various flowers in the requisite colors.  I first did them in order across the card but didn't like it so I matched up the flowers with a color.  The sentiment is from The Ton.  I think this would make a nice set of notecards without the sentiment so I may do a few more just to have on hand.

Thanks for dropping by.  Sending big hugs to you all.

AAA Cards #188

I like a challenge.  And by that I mean a real challenge, where you have to do something more difficult.  AAA Cards has a good one for us this week.  Use only a 1 inch strip and that includes the sentiment.

The MFT giraffe and sentiment were a gift from a friend a long time ago and has been rarely used.  How perfectly do both he and the sentiment fit on that masked off strip that's been inked with Distress Inks with a few stenciled leaves.

I was honored to have my card for their last challenge picked as one of their top three.  Thanks so much AAA Cards for the fun challenges.  I hope you'll go check them out.

CAS Christmas - April 2021

It's rainbow time over at CAS Christmas.

I went back and forth about what to do but ended up with this stocking from Concord & 9th.

I colored it with Zigs in rainbow order.  I hope the little touch of brown is okay on the pine cone.  I mean what other color could it be. ;)   Want to see the sentiment?
This is such a fun card to make and I should have done a few more while I had the set out.

Thanks for taking some time out of your day to drop by.

CAS Christmas - Silhouette

The Design Team at CAS Christmas made some wonderful silhouette cards and inspired me to do this one.

I blended Chipped Sapphire DI on my cardstock and then cut it with the MFT dome die.  The wise men are from Woodware and the sentiment from My Craft Spot (oob).  This one would be easy to reproduce.

Thanks for dropping by.  Take care.
