CAS Watercolor - July

Splash watercoloring is such a fun way to make a background and it's this month's theme for the CAS Watercolor challenge.  You can get varied looks depending on colors and how many times you splash or layer and that's what makes it interesting.
I used Broken China and Faded Jeans Oxide inks for my 'sky' and placed it behind an oval die cut from MFT.  The bird is from PB and the sentiment from PTI.  Inside it says "And in my prayers."  It seems I need a lot of prayer cards lately.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope your week is off to a good start.

Addicted to Stamps and More #271

It's time again for one of your favorite challenges at Addicted to Stamps and More.  Anything Goes.  I have a card I made a while ago but haven't posted.

The greens and berries are from CPD and the sentiment from CF.

Even though it's a busy time of year, I know we'll have a lot of entries in the gallery.  Will you be one of them?

CASology #266

With all the birthday cards I do, you'd think I'd have more cake images.  I have a large one from C&9th and a cupcake from Altenew that I used for CASology this week.

I stamped it on an MFT oval and colored it with Zigs before popping it up on foam.  The SPD confetti was an afterthought but it adds a little party to the cake.

I'm so glad you dropped by.  I hope you come back again.

AAA Cards Birthday Bash

It's AAA Cards Challenge's 3rd birthday and they are having a party for themselves - and us as there are prizes to be had and a fun Blog Hop. Congratulations AAA!  Here's my card for you.

I stamped the Altenew Layered Cupcake in the colors of the AAA logo as closely as I could.

Thanks for dropping by.

Just Us Girls # 382

It's Spring!  No, not really but Sue has a fabulous Spring photo to inspire your entries at Just Us Girls.
Tulips peeking through the snow mean Spring to me although I'd rather not have the snow.
I decided to pull out my Inktense pencils to paint my PTI tulips.  I stamped the background with my NBUS Penny Black script stamp in Fog ink, inked around the edges of both the card base and oval with Fog and then splattered with Black Soot before popping up the oval and attaching the flowers.  The PB sentiment was embossed with black on vellum and cut around the edge.

For more inspiration, check out the blog for what the Design Team and guest designer Michele Greenwood have made.  Enter a card in the gallery and you may be chosen Chic of the Week.

The Flower Challenge - Blue and Yellow

I've had this card for The Flower Challenge done for over a week.  Why oh why do I wait until the last minute to post?
This little card took a couple of turns before I was satisfied with it. On screen the oval looks much darker than the card base but it really isn't.  The lily is a PB stamp that I masked to stamp the other PB flowers on Bristol, colored with Zigs and splattered with DI. Then to the age old question, where to put the SSS sentiment.

I'm so glad you dropped by and hope your week is off to a great start.

Fusion - Chairs, The Heart Desires #5 and Addicted to CAS #98

One card, three challenges.  How often does that happen?

I started with the photo for Fusion, stacking my images in similar colors
which are almost the same as those on The Heart Desires.
Addicted to CAS has a watercolor challenge and that made the final decision. Distress Inks and Altenew was all I needed plus a sentiment from MFT.
That's it for today.  Thanks for dropping by.

The Card Concept #53

So many of us hoard our patterned paper but I thought the challenge at The Card Concept was perfect for using some. of mine

My oval dies from PTI and a lacy one from MCS are done in teal to (sort of) match the flowers.  They really do look match-y IRL  The PS sentiment takes center stage.  I think I'm about done with Thank You cards for a while.

My colors are a little off from the photo but are still in the same family.

I'm off to play cards with Michele Ferguson tomorrow.  If we actually finish a card, with all the sharing and chatting and eating and laughing, you may see it in a post this weekend.

Muse Christmas Visions #40 and HLS Christmas

I think I missed a few Christmas challenges but I have a card today for Muse: Christmas Visions which also works for Happy Little Stampers Christmas.
I got these oval dies from PTI a while ago and pulled them out when I saw the Muse CV inspiration by Chriss Blagrave.
I added holly from a Poppystamps die and a sentiment from Penny Black. So easy I could make a ton of them if I didn't get bored repeating myself. ;)

Thanks for dropping by.

CASual Fridays #139

There are birthdays galore around blogland.  This week it's the 4th birthday of CASual Fridays.

We are asked to make our birthday card in orange, teal, black and white.  Do you think that's because those are their logo colors?  I'm thinking so.

 Here's my card for them.

I watercolored a MFT flower with Distress Ink, then masked it and smooshed the background with Peacock Feathers DI.  I made a smaller white panel, cut an oval with a Spellbinders die and popped it up. The sentiment is from PB.  Now if you want to know the truth, I originally had a full white panel but it looked too plain to me.  I trimmed it down, made sure the smooshing went to the edges of the watercolor panel and I like it much better.

Thanks for dropping by.  Hope your week is getting off to a wonderful start.
