The Flower Challenge #99 -

The Flower Challenge is back with the first challenge of 2025.

My card features Honey Bee's Peony, cut in C9 Ballet Slipper and inked to give it dimension.  The Soft Stone panel was stamped using  CP Twilight and a background from The Stamp Market.   The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

The Design Team has some wonderful pink flowers decorating The Flower Challenge blog.  Take a peek and make a card to enter into our gallery.  We'd love to see you there.

Peace on Earth #74

Peace on Earth has such a wonderful mood board and it inspired me to make a card featuring a fox.

I love the Heart Hug critters from Honey Bee and cut the fox from brown and rustic cream cardstock.  His candy cane is from the Spellbinders Christmas Wonder set and the dome die from Waffle Flower.  The background is Catherine Pooler's Peppermint Stick stamp inked in her Rockin' Red ink and the sentiment is from one of her older stamp sets.

Edited to add:  I just saw the challenge at Jingle Belles and my card fits there beautifully.

Thanks for dropping by.

Color Hues #96

I've been working on Halloween cards and thought the colors at Color Hues warranted another one.

I cut a circle to mask the moon before blending the background with Distress Inks.  A background stamp from Penny Black and some bats from Winnie and Walter made my spooky scene.

Thanks for dropping by.  I love it when you do.

The Flower Challenge #93

This month's The Flower Challenge should be the easiest one ever.

That's right.  All you have to do is make a birthday card featuring flowers.  Here's mine.

The geraniums are from The Greetery, colored with Altenew (Pink Pearl and Coral Bliss) and Distress Inks (Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness).  They are potted in a barrel colored with Scorched Timber DI.  The background is from The Stamp Market, stamped in CP Twilight ink as is the sentiment from Hero Arts.

There is plenty of inspiration for you over on The Flower Challenge blog.  The Design Team has done wonders with their birthday cards.

Group of Seven Cardmakers - November 2023

This month the Group of Seven has us stenciling over heat embossing.

I need to find more stencils to do the technique with but for this card I used the poinsettia from Alex Syberia.  The heat embossed background is a stamp from SSS. It's difficult to see the inner leaves of the flower but I do love how it looks.  There are instructions and plenty of inspiration over on their blog.  Be sure to check them out and try this great technique.

Thanks for dropping by.

Just Us Girls #675 - Photo Week

Nancy is our host for Photo Week at Just Us Girls and she has a very springlike moodboard for us.

You can see a larger image on the blog.  I was inspired by the top right photo of a garden gate.

It's been ages since I used this set from Papertrey Ink.  The background is Vintage Jadeite cs stamped with PinkFresh Studio's Floral Shadow in VersaMark ink for a tone on tone look.  The gate was cut in white twice for dimension.  All I had to do was add the Hollyhocks, Bleeding Hearts and the sentiment sign that has been heat embossed with Etched Platinum, all from the same Garden Gate set.

Which of these photos draws your attention?  Want to see what the Design Team and our guest Joanne did?  Head over to Just Us Girls to see.  We hope you are inspired to make a card for our challenge.

The Flower Challenge #79

It's April already and time for another challenge at The Flower Challenge.

This means you need background stamping in addition to your flowers.

I love ink smooshing so I did a big panel in pinks to make this Virginia Rose from Altenew.  And a green one too for the leaves.  The flower is on light gray cardstock that has been stamped in Versa Mark with  PinkFresh's Floral Shadow.  The same gray was used for the sentiment from Hero Arts.

The Design Team and our guest designer Ishani have plenty of inspiration for you.  Please check them out and then make a card for our gallery.  We'd love to see you there.

Color Throwdown #727

The colors from Color Throwdown brought out my Erin Lee Creative background stamp.

I needed some Altenew artist marker practice and thought this stamp would work well.  As you can see I need lots more practice.  It didn't help that the Firefly marker I used on the rose leaves was dry. The panel was trimmed down and a foiled sentiment from Altenew was added.

Color Hues #53

Fortunately I had a card already made that fit the challenge at Color Hues.  Not many know that I had rotator cuff surgery on November 7 and can't use  my left arm.  It's killing me that I can't do any card making, or much else for that matter, but I did get all my cards ready to mail ahead of time so there may be a few I can enter in challenges.

The backgrouond stamp is from PinkFresh Studio colored with Zigs. The foiled sentiment is from Waffle Flower.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you Christmas card making is going well.

Color Hues #52

Even though I have an order on its way, I'm going to try to use more of my older stamps. 😁  I did just that for the challenge at Color Hues.

The stamp is Blooms Fill-in from Concord and 9th, stamped in CP Aquatini and Tiara.   I die cut one image from the background stamp and layered it up three times.  The sentiment is from The Ton.

Thanks for dropping by.

52 Christmas Card Throwdown 22-34

When I checked the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown yesterday I realized the challenge was about to expire so I quickly made a card.

The color challenge was blue, white and gold so I heat embossed the SSS Hand Lettered Holiday background stamp, inked with Prize Ribbon Distress Ink, trimmed it down with WaffleFlower A2 dies and mounted on a white cardbase.  With all the writing it didn't need much else for a sentiment so I die cut the word from WaffleFlower and stacked both the gold 'joy' and white shadow three times.  So EZPZ that I made another one in red at the same time.

So glad you dropped by.

Freshly Made Sketches # and NBUS #

Judy has a great sketch for us over at Freshly Made Sketches.  I'm way behind on my Christmas cards so that's what I made for the challenge.

I started by heat embossing the SSS Hand Lettered Holiday background stamp in gold on red.  I trimmed the panel and added The Greetery Pine Botanicuts.  No need for a sentiment since the background is full of them. ;)

I'm sending this over to NBUS since this is the first time using the background stamp.

It feels so good to do a little crafting again but I'm still not fully settled into our summer home.  I hope to get more cards made while I'm here.  Besides those Design Team ones that are already done.
