Time Out #225

For a short time I kept a gratitude journal.  It really makes you appreciate the little things.  One of the things I'm thankful for is the crafting community I have found.  I've made great friends, both in real life and virtually.  Today I've made a thankful card for Time Out.

I started with Mica Sprays to make a panel to cut my Tim Holtz leaves.  Then I brought out my neglected Oxide inks to make a blended background on Fine Linen cardstock from PTI with Frayed Burlap, Ground Expresso and Walnut Stain, adding a few splatters.  I tried the word die in dark brown but didn't like it so I topped it with a rust colored cardstock.

ETA: I just saw the challenge at Tic Tac Toe and will be sending my card to them too.  I used the first column down.

I'm thankful that you dropped by.

Inspired By #148

The photo inspiration at Inspired By really drew me in.

I'm looking for some architectural windows like that for my bedroom.  In lieu of that, I recreated one from paper.

I bought the chicken wire die from Kat Scrappiness quite a while ago and thought it was perfect to put in between layers of the WF dome die.  I cut two of the leafy branches and added some metallic paint to the edges of the leaves and on the branches to give it some pizazz although it doesn't show in the photo. The CP word die is triple layered in Canyon Clay cs.

I'm thankful you took time to drop by.

AAA Cards #149

Let's twist again like we did last summer.  How's that for an ear worm?  I usually try to do the twist on a card challenge if there is one and I did on  AAA Cards - inlaid die twist.

They're being sponsored by Funky Fossil Designs so I used one of Sarah's stencils, inking it in autumn colors.  The die is from CP cut in GK Coral Reef, which it a beautiful Fall color IMHO.

Thanks for dropping by.  I'm so thankful for all my visitors.

CAS(E) This Sketch #338

It's another retro sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch

This was what I made for sketch #58.
And this is for #338.
I had to turn the sketch to allow room for the die from CP that has been stacked three deep.  The leaves were leftovers from a smooshed panel I posted yesterday here.  This is the start of the Thanksgiving cards I will send to the homebound from our church.

Thanks for dropping by.

Cas(E) This Sketch #305

The first thing I thought of when I saw the sketch for CAS(E) This Sketch was my PTI Autumn Berries.  I haven't used them enough and they would be different from the typical green leaves.
The sentiment is from the same set and I heat embossed it in Platinum on some DSP.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you leave a comment.  I love reading them.

Time Out Reminder

I'm here to remind you of the 100th challenge at Time Out where the word is:

I think grateful and thankful are synonymous and that is what I used for my card this week.
The anemones are from WPlus9 that I masked and loosely watercolored with Distress Inks.  The sentiment is from CPD.

The Design Team has some wonderful inspiration for you over on the blog so be sure to check it out. There's still time so we hope you'll make a card and help us celebrate this challenge milestone.

Celebrating Time Out's 100th Challenge

I am honored to be the guest designer for the 100th challenge at Time Out.  When Sandie contacted me there was no way I could say no to being part of this wonderful milestone.  For this challenge they have a word inspiration:
For my card I used some NBUS stamps and dies from Concord and 9th.
The globe is stamped in Old Paper DI on Bristol that was softly inked with Tumbled Glass. It is foam mounted on the stand that was stamped on a Fog panel in VF Gray.  I used the same gray for the sentiment. The background is a map paper that has been in my stash forever.

There is so much to be thankful for that you shouldn't have any trouble coming up with a card for this challenge.  It is sponsored by Verve but you can use any stamps that you have.  For more inspiration be sure and check out what the Design Team has for you over at Time Out.

Come join the celebration.

Just Us Girls #418 - Word Week

Maria is our host for this week's word challenge at Just Us Girls and she chose this:
My new Stamp of Approval box had just the perfect things to make a thankful card.
I inked the stencil with a variety of Distress Oxides before layering the vellum that has stamped and heat embossed words.  This is truly the way I feel - thankful, grateful, blessed.

The members of the Design Team have made wonderful creations along with our guest designer Trina Pham from My Crafting Closet.  We hope we inspire you to make a card and enter it in our gallery.
