Just Us Girls #832 - Mood Board Week

I'm your host for Mood Board Week at Just Us Girls and found this fun summertime one that has lots of images to inspire your card.

Here's a closeup.

I often wonder what comes first.  The mood board or a stamp/die set that inspired the choice.  In this case the die set came first.  See that Ferris Wheel on the left?  That's what I put on my card.

The die set is from SSS on a card with a computer generated sentiment.  I added a spinner and that makes it even more fun.  I did a video but couldn't get Blogger to add it here.

I originally made one in primary colors for my great grandson for his 7th birthday in January.  I did get a little smirk from him when he read the punny sentiment.

Where will your card making take you?  The Design Team and our guest Bonnie have a wonderful variety of cards that may give you ideas.  We'd love to see you in the gallery.

Just Us Girls #828 - Mood Board Week

Denise has chosen a colorful mood board for Just Us Girls this week.

I love flowers and have so many stamps and dies that it would be difficult to choose just one so I did a technique that includes several.

This is the Blackout technique on Altenew's Lush Garden embossing folder.  The flowers were colored on the debossed (indented) side of the panel and black ink swiped across to cover the background.  I did see black in the background on the mood board. ;)  The sentiment is a BetterPress from SB.

If you have flower stamps and/or dies, and who doesn't, I hope you'll enter our challenge this week.  The Design Team and our guest Kellianne have outdone themselves with beautiful inspiration.

Just Us Girls #824 - Mood Board Week

Carol Mc is the host at Just Us Girls this week and this is the Mood Board she has to inspire you.

You can take the shapes, colors, items, whatever draws you in to make your card.  I was inspired by the colors and the white framed geometric pictures on the wall.

I started by stenciling PFS's Garden Trellis with CP inks in Tiki Torch, Party Dress, and Something Borrowed. Lisa Horton's gold was used for the center squares before adding the white die cut on top. I needed a simple sentiment and found this one in a set by SSS and CZ Designs called Good Greetings.

Need more inspiration?  Check out the Design Team and our guest Kerry to see how they used the mood board for their cards.

Just Us Girls #819 - Mood Board Week

I'm the host for Mood Board Week at Just Us Girls and this is what I found to inspire you.

Here's a larger image so you can better see how many different things you have to choose from.

See that image in the middle?  That's the direction I took.

I used the same umbrella I used a few weeks ago from Honey Bee and filled it with the vines from Altenew's House Plants.  The branch is a die from MFT and the background is patterned paper from Altenew.  I left off a sentiment because I didn't know what to use or where to put it. 😁

I hope you'll join me and my team mates for this fun mood board challenge.

Just Us GIrls #815 - Mood Board Week

It's Mood Board Week at Just Us Girls and Carol M has chosen this.

Aren't those painted rocks fun?  I can't wait to see what you make for the challenge. This is what came to me.

Spellbinder's Essential Floral Reflection was cut from PTI Smoky Shadow and their Floral Reflection flowers were cut from scraps.  The background is Luxurious Motifs from Altenew and I thought a scalloped circle for the sentiment from EH went well with it.

The Design Team and our guest Milla have wonderful cards for you to see.  I hope you take a look and  get inspired to make a card.

Just Us GIrls #811 - Mood Board Week

Lisa is the host for mood board week at Just Us Girls and she has a wonderful photo to inspire your card for this week's challenge.

Doesn't that look luscious?  What sparks your imagination?  I did a mix-up.

I took the cup and put the flowers in it. 😁  The Greetery geraniums were cut from SB blush and inked in the center with Kitsch Flamingo DI. They were arranged along with leaves cut from a green scrap in a mug from Memory Box cut from Pink Sand, also from SB. The embossed background is the Blossom Field folder from SSS and the sentiment is a BetterPress.

There is inspiration abound from the Design Team and our guest designer Denise Morgans from The Crafty Den.  I hope you check them out and make a card based on the photo.

Just Us Girls #806 - Mood Board Week

Vicki has a great winter mood board for us this week at Just Us Girls.

Here's a larger image so you can see more detail.

I combined several pictures in the lower middle of the board for my card.

I was looking for something else when I came across this paper with the log cabin on it.  Perfect!  All I did was add a stacked tree from Cutting Edge, using foam tape between the layers and Puff Paste for the snow. The sentiments is from Penny Black.

Which part of the board will entice you to make a card?  Check out what the Design Team and our guest Laurel have made for inspiration.  We'd love to see your card in our gallery.

Just Us Girls #802 - Mood Board Week

Carol Mc has a great mood board for us at Just Us Girls this week.

There are lots of images to inspire your card and if that's not enough, the Design Team and our guest Leslie have some wonderful cards to get your ideas flowing.  Here's mine.

I focused on the star with greens and the wood background.  The star is from PFS Nested Stars.  It is a hot foil plate with dies but I only used the dies, cutting it in C9 Nutmeg cardstock and layering with foam tape. The greens are SB Blue Spruce cut with TH Holiday Greens.  I wanted to add ornaments but didn't have any small enough so I cut circles from a textured gold cardstock.  The Joy die is also TH and the wood background is from a pack I love but don't have the name of.

I hope you have the time to make a card based on our mood board. We'd love to see you in our gallery.

Just Us Girls #797 - Mood Board Week

This is Mood Board Week at Just Us Girls and our host Carol wants you to be inspired by this:

Here's a larger view.

The board is full of lovely Fall colors and lots of little images to pull from.  This is the direction I took.

My new Penny Black Ascending die looked somewhat like the leaves in the photo so I watercolored them with Distress Inks in Fossilized Amber, Evergreen Bough and Rusty Hinge.  Then I went looking for matching paper to add some interest to the side -  SB light yellow, C9 Spiced Cider and an unswatched aqua along with a main panel of Gina K Moonlit Fog.  The background was embossed with a Honey Bee burlap folder for a rustic look.

Our guest designer Greta and the rest of the team have some wonderful cards to inspire you to enter the challenge.  I hope to see you there.

Just Us Girls #780 - Mood Board Week

Vicki is hosting our Mood Board Week at Just Us Girls and she picked this lovely scene to inspire you.

Here's a close-up view.

Of course I was inspired by the poppies, my second favorite flower, and I knew right away what stamp I would use.

The stamp is another oldie, Poppy Gems from Penny Black, and is colored with Zigs.  I added a black border to finish it off and decided to not spoil the picture by adding a sentiment.

You can be inspired by the flowers, the beach, the water, the colors.  Whatever your little creative heart desires.  Check out what the Design Team and our guest Joanne did if you need some ideas.

Just Us Girls #767 - Mood Board Week

Lisa is the host for Mood Board Week at Just Us Girls.

It looks like Spring is just around the corner judging by the photo.  I was inspired by the heart in the bottom right corner.

And I even had a Spring sentiment to add to my heart wreath from The Greetery.  I tried my Brushos for the first time in quite a while and decided I am not very good with them.  I actually ended up using a smooshing technique to spread the colors and I like it much better.  I cut the center of the heart from white and inserted it so I could emboss the background with SU's Tasteful Textile.  The sentiment is from Honey Bee.

Which of these pictures will you choose to base your card on?  Let's go see which ones the Design Team and our guest designer Jeanne Jachna picked to inspire you.
