Freshly Made Sketches #620 and NBUS #58

Hey there.   I'm so glad you dropped by.

Last week Linda honored me with a favorite pick at Freshly Made Sketches.  With that encouragement, I had to make a card for Jacquie's challenge this week.  Here it is mixing the old with the new.

I took advantage of a few after Christmas sales and purchased this beautiful magnolia from Altenew, so I'm also sending my card to NBUS. The layers were all cut in white and colored with Altenew inks. The background is a coverplate from STAMPlorations, the stitched rectangle and circle dies from SSS and the sentiment from My Craft Spot (oob).

This goes to show how older products can look new again when paired with new stamps and dies.  I plan to use more of my older stash this year.  Let's see how that goes. 😁

Just Us Girls #707 - CAS Week

I'm hosting the last challenge of the year for Just Us Girls and it's CAS Week.  My prompt is

I'd like your image to be inside a circle.  That leaves plenty of 'white' space for a clean and simple look.

I colored the little penguin from MFT's Sweet Holiday Penguins with Zigs and placed him in the middle of a circle cut from SSS Stitched Rectangles.  I don't know why the circle looks cream.  It is actually white but a yellower white than my PTI card base.

So what image will you put in a circle?  There are cards from the Design Team and our guest Melissa for you to see and hopefully be inspired by to make a card for our gallery.

Thanks, Melissa, for being our guest this month.  And thank you to all who have made cards throughout the year.  We'll see you back here in January.

Peace on Earth #38 and Christmas Kickstart #73

It's great when two different challenges have the same theme.  That is true of Peace on Earth and Christmas Kickstart who both feature gnomes.  I ended up making two cards so I'll send one to each.

The gnome, tree and lantern are from a set by Sugar Pea Designs and are colored with Altenew artist markers.  The background is DSP from Honey Bee and a circle cut with SSS Stitched Circles and Stitched Slopes.  The sentiment is from GinaK.

On this one the background was embossed with a NBUS folder from Spellbinders and the circle was colored with Distress Oxide.

I'm so glad you dropped by.

CASology #287

We're better together and so we make our together cards for CASology.  Mine is about as CAS as you can get.
The clocks embossing folder speaks to the sentiment from a GinaK exclusive for CPD.  I can think of a number of people this would apply to.  If only all my cards were this easy. ;)

Thank you for spending a little time visiting and commenting.

Merry Monday #268

I thought I was in trouble.  Merry Monday wants a Santa hat on our cards this week.  My supply of Santas and hats is limited so for once I thought out of the box.  I mean way out.
I used a stitched slope die from SSS to cut red and white paper to make a hat and fur and stitched circles for the pom pom.  I knew I wanted to use Ho Ho Ho as my sentiment but I didn't have a stamp so I used a 'holiday' die from PTI and did a little surgery that left me with just the 'ho'.  That's it.  A completely die cut card.

The weekend is upon us so I hope to get some a little more crafting done.  Maybe some sympathy cards since I depleted my supply with cards for my daughter-in-law whose father passed away and her mother.  I also sent one to a dear classmate who lost her grandson in a car accident.  It's been a sad week.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope your weekend goes well.

CASology #274 and 25 Days of Christmas Tags - 4

I think things computer related are all in working order now so I pulled out one of my favorite tiny stamps to make a CAS card for CASology - code word "Tiny".

I've been adding some of my Christmas tags to the end of my blog posts.  I hope that's okay with Tracey and the DT.  I'd hate to miss out of any of those fabulous prizes because I didn't follow the rules.  Today's tag was inspired by this one on day four by Audrey.

The challenge was sponsored by Reverse Confetti but I don't have any of their stamps so I used a new one from Sunny Studio.
I colored the church with Zigs and added a little tree from ME.

I have a lot of tags to go look at since I'm way behind on Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags and Loll also has a mixed media tag challenge.  You'll see more tags from me popping up here in the next few days.

Addicted to CAS #118

A new code word is up on the Addicted to CAS challenge blog chosen by Susan.  It took me a while to decide what to do but since I wanted to use my NBUS stamps from PTI, I came up with this.
I stamped and die cut the berries, mounting them on a SSS stitched circle that hangs over the top of the card.  The PB sentiment was curved to follow the edge or the circle.

Our sponsor this week is Happy Little Stampers who is awarding a $15 gift certificate to the winner of the challenge.  We'd love to see you make a card - remember to keep it CAS - and enter it in the gallery.

Curtain Call - Frosting

The photo title says 'frosting' but I saw flowers and that is what I did for the challenge at Curtain Call.
I love the peachy colored cupcake on the right in the photo below.  Mine turned out a little darker but Distress Tea Dye was as close as I had to color this PB flower.  The wood panel is from Altenew stamped with Hickory Smoke DI with a water wash over it.  The sentiment is from E by E.

So glad you dropped by.  Have a wonderful day.

Fusion - Soft and Subtle

Playing in the Fusion challenge gave me a chance to use my newest Altenew stamp set, Remember This, although I did add a flower and leaves from Peony Bouquet.
These are the new pink Altenew inks and they layer so well.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope your day is going well.
