The Paper Players #805

Jaydee's sketch at The Paper Players gives you a chance to break out some of those patterned papers you've been hoarding.

Actually mine are new since I took advantage of a sale on Honey Bee paper packs.  I was looking for a specific one but couldn't resist a few others.  Like I need more paper.  LOL   This pack is called Spooktacular and I used three pieces from it to show off my little bird ghost from Unity Stamps. The sentiment is from the same set.

Krafty Chicks #839

It's a masculine challenge at Krafty Chicks and I finally made a card I've been wanting to do for a while.

I picked a light teal color and cut six of MFT's Hooray die from it, then stacked them with another cut, before arranging them on the same color card front.  The sentiment from Altenew was stamped in black, trimmed and stacked.

Freshly Made Sketches #755

Donna's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches had me thinking and going through my stamps/dies until I landed on one I thought would work best.

It may be a little out of proportion and there is no sentiment but the rest is what the sketch calls for.  The background is embossed with Crackle Paint from SB on the top and Honey Bee's Rustic Brick Wall on the bottom which gave me a great place to hang my Altenew Houseplants.

Thanks for dropping by and spending a bit of your day with me.

Double D Challenge - Pretty in Pink

Double D has a Pretty in Pink challenge and I wanted to play with some new products and used their challenge as inspiration.

It started with Pinkfresh Studio's Beautiful Branch, stamped in light gray ink and stenciled with Gina K Light Carnation, adding it darker in the center.  Altenew Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades colored the leaves. I cut a panel with PFS Blanket Stitch Ovals but wanted to pop it up so a piece of cardstock was folded to make the mechanism.  To frame it all, pink cardstock was embossed with SSS Flower Frame.  The sentiment is a BetterPress.

Thanks for dropping by and spending a bit of your day with me.

Just Us Girls #842 - Stencil Week

Your favorite Stencil Week is back at Just Us Girls and it's Anything Goes hosted by Sue.

I would like to thank Julia Aston for all the wonderful cards she created to inspire our followers this month.

I gold heat embossed the Lovely Camellias set from Altenew and stenciled with their Spring Bouquet inks.  The trimmed navy panel was embossed with Altenew's Dotty Circles and a gold embossed sentiment from their One-Go Birthday was added.

Now it's your turn.  Which stencil will you choose to use to make a card for our challenge?  We'd love to see yours in our gallery.

Color Hues #141

It's so much easier to use most of my stamps when Color Hues has green in the mix.  This challenge has Sheri's choice of purple and artichoke.

I've been watching Jennifer McGuire videos and loving the ideas she has for making cards with a twist. I made a Zfold card with a flower overhang.  The stenciled flowers are Amazing Things from Pinkfresh Studio, colored with Altenew inks.  The embossing is the Sparkling Facets folder from SSS and the sentiment is a BetterPress.

Krafty Chicks #838

Time is running out on the Krafty Chicks challenge and because my card for their last challenge received a shout out I feel compelled to enter this week's CAS challenge.  I was making a card yesterday for fun and think it works.

There are varying opinions on what makes a CAS card so I hope my Burlap embossed background from Honey Bee is okay with the Chicks.  The little trees are from SSS, cut from a paper pack from Craft Consortium.  The mantel is from Simon Hurley's Mantle Decorations and the white heat embossed sentiment is Hero Arts.

Thank you for spending a bit of your day with me again.  I appreciate it.

The Paper Players #804 and CAS Christmas 9.26

It's a clean and simple challenge at The Paper Players this week with the theme "Bears".

This bear is from Spellbinders Festive Friends.  He's dressed in a winter sweater made from a Honey Bee's Make It Merry paper pack.  The lights were already made in the folder with Glossy Accents on them.  The sentiment is from PFS.

I thought about making him a brown bear but resisted.  Then I realized I didn't have anything to use for the CAS Christmas Challenge and a brown bear would have worked.  A little research told me that there are white woodland bears called Kermode, a subspecies of the black bear so off this goes to CAS Christmas.

Inkspirational #376

The challenge at Inkspirational is Furry Friends.  Except for a Christmas bear, I didn't bring any animal stamps with me but I do have a card I made last March for my son's birthday.

This Conga line is from the Anita Jeram collection at Colorado Craft Company and was stamped and given to me by my friend Michele quite a while ago.  I can't find it on their web site. Sorry.  They are colored with Zigs and I added them to a full card shaker filled with a variety of dots cut with an MFT die.  The sentiment is from Penny Black.

Freshly Made Sketches #754

The sketch for Freshly Made Sketches is wide open and ready for any half panel you want to design.  I had one already made and in the package.

Jesus is the focal point of Simon Hurley's Nativity Scene, cutting him in color while Mary and Joseph are silhouettes.  The background was colored with Distress Inks and splattered with Hero Arts Unicorn Spray.  The sentiment is from Spellbinder's The Three Magi.

The Paper Players #803 - Color Challenge

I knew right away what I was going to do for the color challenge at The Paper Players.

LeAnne's colors were perfect for Altenew's poppies, stamped in their ink.  No green?  No problem.  I just left the leaves in outline form.  They're on a background created with SSS Whirlpool Spinner embossing folder.  The sentiment is from The Ton.

Thanks for dropping by and spending a big of your day with me.

Just Us Girls #841- Mood Board Week

Just Us Girls has their Mood Board Challenge this week and here is the board chosen by our host Vicki.

Here's a close-up so you can see all the ideas this photo holds.  I went with the one in the lower right.

The houses and trees are from STAMPlorations The houses were stamped on watercolor paper and masked so the tree could be stamped between.  Everything was loosely colored with Distress Inks and a sentiment from Hero Arts was added.

Which photo from this collage caught your attention?  Check out the Design Team and guest designer Julia's makes for inspiration.

Time Out #322 - Inspired By Challenge

There's an Inspired By challenge at Time Out and we want you to be inspired by the colors of the season where you live.

As the weather turns colder, mid September can start the changing of colors here in mid-Michigan where I will be until the end of this month and I love the variety that the trees turn.

I smooshed panels with a variety of Distress Inks from which to cut the images from Tim Holtz's Foliage Wreath.  It's on a panel embossed with the Dancing Starlets folder from SSS.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Gina K and the winner will be awarded a $25 store credit along with an invitation to guest design.

Since we have followers and a Design Team from all over the world, we should see a wide range of colors choices for cards for this challenge.  I hope you'll join us.

CAS Mix-Up September Reminder

There is still time to play along with the CAS Mix-Up Challenge this month.  I'm hosting and our prompt is

I hope you'll join me and my teammates for this fun and colorful challenge.  I have another card to inspire you.

One of Papertrey Ink's Botanical Blocks was heat embossed in gold on Bristol Smooth and colored with Zig Real Brush Markers.  After adding the sentiment from MFT, the panel was placed on Pumpkin Pie cardstock from SB.  This is to show you that 'white space' doesn't need to be white and the card is still Clean and Simple.

Krafty Chicks #837

I've been trying to get more Christmas cards made and did one last month that I'm sending to Krafty Chicks for their Christmas challenge.

The jolly old elf is Santa Greetings from Tim Holtz. Instead of the letters that came with the die set, I used the ones from Simon Hurley's Mantle Decorations because they were smaller.  I used the letters that punch out of the banner instead of the banner pieces themselves and that was fun trying to remove the double-sided adhesive from those tiny little pieces.  The background paper is from a pack by The Paper Studio.

Color Hues #140 and NBUS #90

I took advantage of a couple of sales and used several of the items for Color Hues and Darnell's NBUS.

The NBUS flowers are Penny Black's Refresh colored with Stormy Sky Distress Ink.  The same ink was used to edge my new Flower Puff embossing folder from SSS.  For the brown, I used Frayed Burlap on PB's Ascending.  The sentiment is from SB Just Add Cake.
